All primary schools in the country will receive a copy of the Macedonian spelling

On the initiative of the President of ZELS, Orce Gjorgjievski, in cooperation with the NUB « St. Clement of Ohrid » – Skopje, the action is being distributed to distribute the spelling samples of the Macedonian language in all primary schools across the country.

– This activity is an important contribution to improving the teaching process, raising the language culture of students and preserving the Macedonian language as an essential part of our national identity. The action comes after 2,600 copies of the second edition of the spelling were discovered in the depots of the National and University Library « St. Clement of Ohrid » – Skopje, which had not been distributed and kept in inappropriate conditions for seven years, although they were initially intended for all public institutions and institutions.

Following the meeting between the President of ZELS, Orce Gjorgjievski with the director of the NUB « St. Clement of Ohrid » – Skopje, Jovica Nikchevski, as stated in the statement, ends the recorded institutional negligence and ensures that all schools in the country have the Macedonian language.

– After inspecting the archive and documentation of the library, it was established that in 2018 the NUB « St. Clement of Ohrid » applied and received a project in the field of cultural heritage protection (library activity) of national interest from the Ministry of Culture for the Macedonian language spelling. A total of 2,600 copies were to reach all public institutions and institutions in the Republic of Macedonia, as well as to the lectures and libraries outside the country, which apparently did not happen – Gjorgjievski said.

NUB « St. Clement of Ohrid » will submit 1,000 copies of ZELS to be distributed in all primary schools in the country, and all 950 of the central and satellite schools will be covered.

– The Macedonian language is our invaluable wealth, the foundation of our identity and we must preserve it as the most sacred! I would like to express my gratitude to the director Jovica Nikchevski for his dedication and care for the preservation of works that are invaluable to our country. This important edition of the Macedonian spelling will soon be available to our youngest, because they are the ones through which our language, our greatest cultural and spiritual heritage will live – said the ZELS president.
