All parents should play this game with their baby

But a psychologist has now shared her own advice on what she considers ‘the best play’ to play with babies, as it both calms the child with the knowledge that the parent always returns and at the same time strengthens the child’s development.

Dr. Aliza Pressman is a developmental psychologist and has dedicated his career to helping parents find the most effective ways to raise their children.

She was a guest of Jamie Laing’s podcast ‘Great Company’, where in each section he interviews different people and discusses the best games with children, among other things.

« Why is the titte-boh such an important play? » asked Jamie Dr. Aliza in a clip that was later shared on Tiktok.

« Look, now I’m gone, » she demonstrated, hiding her face behind her hands before showing it again. « Now I’m back. I’m gone – I’m back. »

« When you have a toddler – for example, if you show a six -month -old baby a pair of glasses on the table and cover them with a napkin – then they lose interest. They don’t understand that the glasses are still there. They don’t yet have what we call object permanence. »

« Object permanence is the ability to understand that things and people – what we call the personal perman’s – exist, even if they are not visible or present, » she explained.

« And when you are nine or ten months old – and definitely at eleven months – then you start developing object and personal permanence. »
