Alcohol control in the center of the country: police stopped 193 drivers
At the order of the public prosecutor, several alcohol controls in the city of Luxembourg and Fentingen were carried out from Friday to Saturday. A total of 193 drivers were checked in Fentingen on Rue de Bettembourg and in the capital on Rue de Beggen, on the Boulevard FD Roosevelt and Rue Chimay.
In eleven cases, the alcohol test fell positively, the officials issued seven fine notices and four charges subject to charges. Three driver's licenses were moved in on site.
Driver sleeps out intoxication in his car
In several cases, alcohol was found at the wheel. So early Friday evening at 6.40 p.m. in the Route de Longwy, where a person was registered at a petrol station who wanted to drive away drunk. The police came across a driver who initially showed himself uncooperatively towards an alcohol test, but ultimately agreed. This failed positively, the driver's license was collapsed and a provisional driving ban was given.
In the night of Sunday, the police received a report about a presumably alcoholic driver on the Route de Kayl in Dudelingen. The officials found the vehicle on site with a running engine and switched on warning indicators. The driver slept at the wheel and was difficult to wake up. An alcohol test carried out was positive, whereupon the driver's license was collected. Since the man had previously become conspicuous for drunkenness at the wheel, the public prosecutor ordered the vehicle to be confiscated and a protocol was drawn up.
Around 5 a.m. on Saturday morning, a police patrol had to avoid a driver who came towards them on the wrong road at the Rue de Kayl in Schifflingen and also drove to snake lines. The police officers turned over and were able to stop the vehicle. The alcohol test was positive and a protocol was created.
Accident with three vehicles
At around 6:30 a.m., the police received a report about a traffic accident on the N5 at the intersection with Rue Alphonse Munich in Dippach. A driver who was traveling from Bartringen towards Dippach lost control of his vehicle. This collided with a stone cross, several traffic signs and a tree before it finally came to a standstill in the ditch.
Shortly afterwards, another vehicle drove against a tire that had remained on the road from the first accident vehicle. Due to the impact, the tire was thrown onto the oncoming lane, where a third vehicle went over it.
All cars involved were no longer ready to drive and had to be towed. The person who caused the accident was taken to the hospital for the first medical care on site. A alcohol test carried out was positive and a protocol was created.
Hundreds of drivers checked for alcohol tests in the south
Two burglaries also result from the police report. On Friday afternoon, previously unknown perpetrators gained access to a family home in the Rue des Chevalier in Fentingen and were then able to flee with the stolen goods. In Heisdorf there was a break -in on the same afternoon, again in a single -family house where Rue Tony Erpelding. Several rooms were ransacked, the perpetrators fled with jewelry. The investigation was initiated in both cases.
