Alcaraz, the first finalist in Rome
The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, the third world number, qualified in the final of the ATP Masters 1,000 tournament, equipped with total prizes of 8,055,385 euros, after defeating the Italian Lorenzo Musetti on Friday, the 9th place, in two sets, 6-3, 7-6 (7/4).
Alcaraz won 1,000 ATP tournament in April from Monte Carlo in April, but was missing in Madrid because of an injury, AFP notes. The 22-year-old Spaniard can win the 19th title in his career, the third this year after Rotterdam and Monte Carlo, two weeks before the 2025 edition of the Grand Slam tournament at Roland Garros (May 25-June 8).
‘Carlitos’, champion at Roland Garros last year, is required to be the best player on the slag since the withdrawal of his compatriot Rafael Nadal. In the last year, he has won 26 matches on his favorite surface, with only two defeats.
Musetti, 22 years old, passed into the quarterfinals by the German Alexander Zverev, the title holder, the world number 2. Musetti is at his third semifinal at an ATP Masters 1000 tournament on the slag in 2025.
In the other semi -final in Rome, the Italian Jannik Sinner, the world number one, returned after a three -month suspension, will face American Tommy Paul (12 ATP).
