Albania-Kosovo-Kosovo Agreement has nothing to do with NATO
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said the security situation in Kosovo is very important to them, reiterating that they have asked President Vucic to work for accountability in the Banjska attack. Rutte refused to comment on the Agreement on Protection between Kosovo, Albania and Croatia as well as the one between Serbia and Hungary, saying NATO is not involved.
« The Albania-Kosovo-Kosovo Agreement is not about NATO. Stability in the Western Balkans is a concern for us and therefore NATO has its presence in both Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. We also have 5 NATO allies in the region: Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania, Croatia and Slovenia, but we must not work together but we must not work together but I comment on everything that happens in every country in the world, including the Western Balkans.
It is up to the Allied countries to decide individually. Yes there are many such bilateral, tripartite agreements. We need to make sure that the stability achieved since 1999 continues. As for the events in Banjska and the attack on NATO forces in 2023, Serbs must work to be held accountable. This was the topic of our discussion with President Vucic on the phone, as well as during the dinner we had in Brussels two weeks ago, ” Rutte said.
