Albania, again at the center of international diplomacy
Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, has announced that on Monday Albania will host the Ministerial of the Cooperation Process in Southeast Europe (SEECP), an important event within the Albanian Presidency of this Regional Forum.
In a video posted on social networks, Minister Hasani said: « Albania, again at the center of international diplomacy. Our country is fully committed to promoting the advancement of countries in the region towards EU integration. »
SEECP is a key platform for political dialogue and interference cooperation in Southeast Europe. It includes 13 countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Northern Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Kosovo and Turkey. All are also members of the Board of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC).
Albania’s Presidency in SEECP for the period July 2024 – June 2025 is being completed under the motto « We shape our European future ». After Tirana, the direction of the forum will be taken by Sofia.
The SEECP was founded in Sofia in 1996 and organized its first summit in 1997 in Crete. Today, it remains one of the main platforms for building trust and strengthening political, economic and security cooperation in the region.
