Alarm for abuse and censorship
The OSCE-ODIHR intermediate report on the May 11 elections was made public this Tuesday, raising concerns about the misuse of public assets and pressure on administration employees, came from the blue camp. The head of the DP Department of Justice, Franc Nuri said that the report of the organization observing the election is alarming and according to him as inappropriate the conditions under which elections will be held in Albania.
« The OSCE points out that most of the suggestions for improving the electoral process made by this organization remain inappropriate. This logic continues to be the permanent problems under Edi Rama as ‘misuse of public assets for electoral purposes and pressure on administration employees’.
The report does not mention even those with whom the prime minister boasts, ‘patronage nets’ as a form of political influence. The use of personal data is also disturbing illegally, which the report calls ‘abuse’.
Not to mention by name, but by clearly implying the prime minister, the report speaks of ‘campaign that is characterized by personal attacks and lack of discussion on public policy’. The OSCE-ODRI also touches on a wound of elections, which is the lack of punishment for electoral violations and manipulations, as has been proven by files 339 and 184.
The report states that the CEC has identified dozens of violations, but very few punitive measures have been taken. Touching the elections, the violation of the will of the citizens will receive direct, immediate and deserved response. Far hands from the election, ”Franc Nuri said in a press release.
