Airports in Burgas and Varna add dozens of flights to new destinations
Burgas
Ryanair will serve 10 routes in the summer of 2025:
- In March, flights from/to: Krakow, Warsaw Modlin (Poland) and London Luton (UK) start;
- From May: Vienna (Austria)
- In June: Dublin (Ireland), Budapest (Hungary), Bratislava (Slovakia), Poznan, Gdansk (Poland) and Kaunas (Lithuania).
Along with the year -round flights to London Luton (UK) from June, Wizz Air resumes its flights to 6 more European destinations:
- Vienna (Austria)
- Budapest (Hungary)
- Gdansk, Katowice, Lublin, Warsaw (Poland).
The national carrier Bulgaria Air resumes the internal route Sofia – Burgas. The flights will start in the second half of June four times a week, and from July they will be daily.
For the first time this year, Austrian Airlines has launched a new regular route from Vienna with 3 flights a week since mid -June.
Airport operators will pay for airport equipment with antidron systems
This year, Discover Airlines (Lufthansa Group) will connect Frankfurt (Germany) and Burgas with flights from the beginning of May, and from July it has added a new route to Munich (Germany).
Eurowings resumes its flights from 4 German cities in June – Dusseldorf, Stuttgart, Cologne and Hamburg, and from July it has also renewed the Salzburg (Austria) route – Burgas.
The British airline Jet2.com is expanding its presence in Burgas and will run flights of 10 of its 13 bases in the UK. The one from Edinburgh will be included for the first time in 2022.
EasyJet has launched its summer schedule from June and will first resume flights from Manchester (UK), and at the end of the same month will add London Gatwick (UK) and Berlin (Germany).
For the first time, Norwegian will run regular flights from the Latvian capital Riga to Burgas in addition to its routes from Helsinki (Finland), Stockholm (Sweden), Copenhagen (Denmark), Oslo, Tronheim and Bergen (Norway).
The charter flights at Burgas Airport start in early May. Then the first organized tourists from Poland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Belgium are expected. On May 16, the first charter flights from Germany, performed by Electra Airways, began in collaboration with Sunxpress. Flights between Burgas and 7 German airports in Cologne, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hanover, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart will be running.
The airport concessionaire predicts both total growth and an increase in tourists from Poland, Slovakia, Austria, Denmark and the Netherlands.
Varna
The low -cost carrier Wizz Air begins a new route between Abu Dhabi (UAE) and Varna. The airline bases a second aircraft in Varna and resumes flights to Frankfurt Khan, Nuremberg (Germany) and Tel Aviv (Israel) on April 14.

From April 29, Wizz Air will also run twice a week a year -round route to Leipzig (Germany) – the first year -round connection at the airport with this German city. The airline will operate 13 routes from Varna to London Luton and London Gatwick (UK), Berlin, Dortmund, Memmingen, Hamburg, Frankfurt Khan, Nuremberg, Leipzig (Germany), Brussels Charlero (Belgium), Ayndo) (UAE).
April 17 BULGARIA AIR has started new direct line between Varna and Paris – Charles de Gaulle Airport (France), which will be performed twice a week. From mid -April, the airline will increase domestic flights between Varna and Sofia from 18 to 23 weeks.
In June, Bulgaria Air will resume flights to Frankfurt (Germany) and Prague (Czech Republic).
Varna Airport offers regular flights to the following routes:
- For the second consecutive year, Transavia France will run flights between Paris Eagles (France) and Varna every Friday from May 9 to the end of October;
- Volotea renews its flights from Nantes and Lil (France) to Varna on April 8;
- Discover Airlines launches flights from Frankfurt (Germany) on April 12, increasing the frequency of 2 to 4 flights a week since May. From April 30, it will also resume the connection with Munich (3 flights per week);
- Turkish Airlines increases the number of flights to Istanbul (Turkey) from 7 to 11 weeks;
- Austrian Airlines will offer 10 flights per week to Vienna (Austria) during the summer season;
- Air Serbia resumes the route between the Serbian capital Belgrade and Varna from June 2, and in July it will increase the frequency of 3 to 4 flights a week;
- SAS Scandinavian Airlines for the first time in history will launch regular flights between Copenhagen (Denmark) and Varna from June 26;
- As of March 31, Ryanair has been renewing its flights from Vienna (Austria), and since June has been adding Krakow and Katowice (Poland) to its net.
The charter program at Varna Airport this summer includes:
- Germany – The first charter flights begin on May 16 with Electra Airways in collaboration with Sunxpress, directing directly flights from/to 7 German airports in the following cities: Cologne, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hanover, Leipzig, Munich, Stutgart.
- Austria – Senioren Reisen returns with first charter flights from Linz and Salzburg in late April. The last route has not been active since 2018.
- Poland, Czech Republic and Scandinavian countries – The charters from these countries will begin in the second half of May and early June.
- Switzerland – Edelweiss Air doubles the frequency of flights between Zurich and Varna during the summer season.
