Aircraft with around 240 people crashes in India
In India, Air India passenger aircraft crashed shortly after departure. This was confirmed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. According to media reports, more than 240 people were on board. The airline initially announced that the AI171 flight from Ahmedabad to London-Gatwick was involved in an « incident ». According to data from the « FLIGHTRADAR24 » aircraft tracker, the eleven-year-old machine was planned for the flight with the labeling VT-ANB. This was to start at 1:10 p.m. in the city of Ahmedabad in western India and land at Gatwick Airport at 6:25 p.m. (local time).
