The ER India plane crashed on Thursday near the airport in Ahmedabad, in West India, news agencies report.
204 bodies were found at the accident site, while 41 people were injured, said the head of the GS Malik police for the BBC.
It is not known whether the passengers from the plane or people who found themselves at the scene of the accident were killed.
According to police data, there were 242 passengers on the plane, including two pilots and 10 crew members.
There seems to be no survivors, Malik said.
