Ahmetovic: ‘Turudic degrades Parliament and all citizens. He showed a contempt in the fight against corruption ‘

The National Council for monitoring the implementation of the Corruption Corruption Strategy Mirela Ahmetovic (SDP) reported that no one from that institution would appear at the DORH report on Thursday, and it claimed that this is shown by Ivan Turudic’s contempt for the fight against corruption.

« Today, we were supposed to discuss the State Attorney’s Office on the first point on the execution of measures in the 2022 and 2023 Action Plan and we called the DORH representatives, however, we received a rejection and none of them will appear at the session, » Ahmetovic reported on the eve of the Anti-Corruption Council session.

The Attorney General Ivan Turudic sent a letter saying that they were not able to attend an anti-corruption council session, but ‘he uses the opportunity to support the National Council and the willingness of the DORH participation within the framework of the defined regulations that regulate the position, powers and work of the DORH.

In doing so, according to Ahmetovic, the Attorney General opened openly to the Croatian Parliament, underestimates him, as well as the anti -corruption council founded by Parliament. According to the Decision on the establishment of the Council, it also has supervision over the work of the DORH, whether Turudic liked it or not, she said.

« Turudic degrades not only the Croatian Parliament but also the citizens of the Republic of Croatia and all the time, even with this procedure, shows contempt for the fight against corruption. He also shows how he sees parliamentary democracy, because he sees Parliament only as a clerk who receives a written and does not allow the DORH to question, » she said.

She noticed that the memo that Turudic had sent to the Council is identical to the messages sent by Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic in recent days.

« What Turudic does with this is exactly why Plenkovic and the HDZ appointed him, to clean his way to the HDZ in the obtaining of government. Anyone who annoys Plenkovic in winning power, Turudic obediently cleanses, » she said.

Because of all this, she added, it is quite clear why they were looking for Turudic’s dismissal, why he should be replaced because he also showed an anti -corruption council as a politician, communicated as a politician and disavlaates institutions like Plenkovic.

« The National Council is no nobody’s fart, neither mine, nor DORH, nor Turudic, but it may have become Plenkovic’s appointment of Ivan Turudic to the post of Attorney General.
