Aggregators to respect the copyright of the internet portals, downloading content as to now is unacceptable
Internet portals express readiness to talk and agreement with the aggregators, but signed a request from today (May 21), to reach an agreement, to be removed from further aggregation of their contents
Following the notifications and proposal contracts by the news aggregators, for downloading content without compensation, on Tuesday, May 20, organized by the Association of Memedia.mk, representatives of a larger group of Macedonian internet portals held a meeting and discussed the problem.
At the end of the debate, most of the representatives of the Internet portals agreed and signed the following paragraph: « According to the latest amendments to the Law on Copyright and Related Rights ( » Official Gazette of RSM « No. 87/2005), we inform you that we do not accept your proposal contracts sent to our news, for the right to take our information.
If that illegal takeover continues by your part, we will be forced to initiate copyright protection procedures.
All signatories are demanding that they be removed from further aggregation of information, starting on May 21, 2025, until an agreement is reached. As an Association of Portals, Online Media.mk is at your disposal. «

In addition to the above 46 portals, the Association of Onljenmedia.mk expects other portals to join the position, whose owners or representatives of objective reasons were unable to attend a meeting on May 20, at the Association of Journalists of Macedonia.
