Against the « simplification law », let us slow down and dare to make common front – liberation
From April 8 to 11, the National Assembly debate from the Economic life simplification law (PLS). There are many measures derogating from ordinary law, a loss of power by the national commission of public debate, a return to the zero artificial law, on the protection of endangered species, a loss of skills of local authorities. It is a slow but assured dismantling of lean ecological and democratic legislation which still framed the impulses of technological capitalism.
The PLS also concerns the facilitation of industrial installations, in particular mining, allegedly of energy transition and paradoxically associated with digital infrastructure, such as data centers, whose installation would be facilitated in France for supposed digital sovereignty.
Digital infrastructure, which allows digital information to circulate and cloud services to appear on our screens, are organized in data centers interconnected by underwater fiber cables. And to make data centers, cables and energy production factories to supply them, mines are needed, where the ores that will compose the chips of servers and graphics cards, necessary for the operation of artificial intelligence.
