Again Unrest from the FNV trade union, members parliament sends the interim board
The interim board of the FNV trade union was sent away by the Supervisory Board and the membership parliament on Saturday. The membership parliament is the highest body of the trade union and in a closed meeting with the Supervisory Board canceled confidence in the interim board. Judith Westhoek of FNV staff, the trade union for FNV employees, confirms this on Sunday NRC.
In February, the Supervisory Board, the board of the trade union and a representation of the members, decided that the permanent board had to lay down its duties. Within the trade union, unrest had arisen about social safety after the alleged unjustified accusation of cross -border behavior against vice -president Zakaria Boufangacha. Through a strike on 17 February, the FNV staff demanded a safe working environment and the resignation of the board.
Since March, chairman Henk de Jong with Carolien Bijen and Miranda Diependaal have been an interim board, but their term will stop Sunday. At the time, they were instructed to « work on the restoration of trust within the association, ensuring a careful completion of the independent investigations, and the organization of the presidential and board elections ».
A new board must be chosen on 11 July, who should lead the union in the meantime is unclear. The interim board wanted to wait for current investigations before elections for a new fully-fledged administration were held.
FNV Personeel is afraid that elections will now be held too quickly, without « the current investigations and social insecurity » being effectively tackled. In a response, FNV staff mentions that transparency is more important than writing out elections as quickly as possible. « Why not wait until the lower stone is above? », Says Westhoek.
