After the heat, the thunderstorm comes: rain showers on the way that can be intense in the south of the country

We have been living above our position for more than a week. On Friday, the heat aged record of 2 May 1986 was matched at 26.7 degrees in Uccle, says David Dehenauw of the RMI. And also Thursday, May 1, was warm in the summer.

But the song is out. On Saturday, clouds shift for the sun and there is a chance of thunderstorms, especially in the south of the country. The mercury also takes a hefty dive, with Maxima to 15 degrees from Sunday.

“The chance of precipitation is greatest across the southern half of the country, while it can remain dry to the north with more clearings. It is less warm with maxima of 18 degrees in the High Ardennes, 20 degrees in the center up to 23 degrees in Belgian Lorraine. On the coast the mercury does not climb higher than 14 degrees.

The RMI talks about showers and stumps in the south of the country that can be intense locally, with abundant rainfall (here and there more than 20 or 25 millimeters in 24 hours) and rukwinds. From Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning, Code Geel applies for a lot of precipitation in a short time.

On Sunday it will be partly into heavily cloudy with a few more pans. It then becomes more fresher with maxima between 10 and 15 degrees.

From Monday to Wednesday it is constantly changing to sometimes heavily cloudy. Locally there are a few litter, but in many regions it stays dry. The maxima are between 10 and 15 degrees, which is rather fresh for the time of year.
