The Constitutional Commission Riigikogu decided to follow the president’s recommendations and decided to revise the formulations of the law on churches and parishes. The legal commission and a large hall of parliament should now voiced their opinion on this subject.

The Constitutional Commission of the Riigikogu on Tuesday, May 6, heard representatives of the presidential office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and decided to change the law on churches and parishes in accordance with the recommendations of the head of state. “After hearing the representatives of the President and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, we came to the conclusion that the parties simply did not understand each other, because the question is not in terms of church management, but how the threat of security is the reason for breaking ties.
