After cancer shock: King Charles admitted
May cancel
Thursday’s hospitalization took place at The London Clinic, where the king has previously been in treatment.
According to Daily Mail Were there were side effects of the cancer treatment the king still receives, and the stay was described as a « short -term observation ».
Still, the situation led Charles to cancel more planned tasks.
This included the reception of three foreign ambassadors as well as four public events in Birmingham, which was scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
The palace issued a statement explaining that the cancellations were needed to « protect and prioritize His Majesty’s continued very positive improvement ».
At the same time, an apology was sent to those affected, and the court emphasized that the king was « very disappointed » to have to cancel.
Sources close to the royal house say that the king quickly came home and in the evening worked on documents and state tasks from his desk in Clarence House.
According to the palace, there is no need for drama.
Sources describe the process as a « smaller bump on the road » and that it was expected that side effects could occur.
King Charles has previously made it clear that he wants to continue his duties to the extent that health permits, and hospitalization does not change that desire.
