After a penalty roulette alkaloid secured the final in the European Cup
Alkaloid’s handball players wrote a history of Norway in the rematch semi -final duel with Runer and will fight for the trophy in the third European club competition – the European Cup.
In the first duel in Avtokomanda Alkaloid celebrated a 42-37 victory, and Runer won the regular part of the rematch with 34-29, so the passenger in the final was decided by penalties.
In the penalty shoot-out, the boys from Avtokomanda were fully focused, while the hosts missed three times, and after the penalty shootout ended with a score of 35-32 or a total of 72-74 in favor of Alkaloid.
Serafimov, Mitev and Petkovski struck for acclaim.
The Norwegian team opened the game well and led 6-1 at the start, retaining a four to five goals advantage in most of the first half.
Mirholm’s players did not allow the Macedonian representative to return to the game, so they went on a break with four goals, 19-15.
Until the 50th minute it was played at the same pace, then Runar came to a positive of five and even six goals, but up to 60 minutes Alkaloid managed to stay at five 34-29, which meant that the passenger in the final would be decided on penalties.
The most effective in the ranks of Alkaloid were Damjan Mitev with nine and Martin Serafimov with eight goals.
In the fight for the European Cup trophy, Alkaloid’s opponent will be the Greek team AEK.
The first match will be played May 17/18, in Skopje, while the rematch is scheduled for 24/25 May on Greek.
