The Museum of African Art in Belgrade is proudly announced by the new edition of Afro Festival, which is held on 28. and 29. June 2025. years. Years.

For more than two decades, the Afro Festival is a unique event on the cultural scene of Serbia – an open dialogue, teaching, artistic exchange and the celebration of the wealth of African culture.

During the two festival days, the museum becomes a mercury and a playful stage – a place of cultural traditions, modern expressions and authentic artistic inspirations.

In addition to numerous educational and popular facilities for children and adults, the festival encourages the preservation of cultural heritage and the promotion of African art, crafts and cultural practices.

Durbar – African Luxury in the palm

With the support of the African Diplomatic Community in Belgrade, visitors will have the opportunity to discover a variety of African countries within the Durbar program within the Durbar program.

The participants of this year’s Durbara are the embassies of Algeria, Angola, Brazil, Ghana, Egypt, Dr. Kong, Cuba, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria and Tunisia, as well as Consulates Gabona, Jamaica and Namibi.

Music spectacle: Cachel Mutua

The special guest of the festival is Casiva Mutua, a leading Kenyan Percussionist, singer, guitarist and cantanuese, known for the merging of traditional African rhythms with jazz, hip-hop, regaom and fank.

Her work nurtures the dialogue between heritage and modernity, as well as a strong message about gender equality. The Festival will hold the interactive workshop of Perkus and an unforgettable concert on the open scene in the museum garden.
