AFM suspends financing programs until new government formation
The Administration of the Environment Fund (AFM) announced the suspension of all the funding programs, including the postponement of the « Rabla for individuals » session, which was to start on Thursday, June 27, at 10:00. The measure is temporary and comes in the context of political negotiations for the formation of a new government.
The decision was taken, according to the institution, to allow the new executive to establish the budgetary priorities in a coherent way and adapted to the needs of the population.
« The negotiations of the last days regarding the establishment of a new government have the purpose of bringing balance and stability. This is why it is important for the new Government, together with AFM, to prioritize the budget allocations according to the current needs of the population, » said Florin Bănică, AFM president.
He added that the institution remains engaged in promoting projects that have a direct impact on the quality of life and on the protection of the environment, but considers that « patience and wisdom » is needed in establishing the following stages.
AFM stresses that the temporary suspension of programs has the role of supporting a transparent and sustainable government transition. No concrete terms for the resumption of financing programs have been offered.
Among the most anticipated initiatives are the « Classic Rabla » program, intended for the renewal of the car park, and other support schemes for energy efficiency or green infrastructure investments.
