Adzic's selections were given to the EP; time to fall Germans
The Slovenian women's handball team will fight in Group 3 with Belgium, Northern Macedonia and Germany in December 2026 qualifying for the next European Championship, which will be in December 2026. Selection Dragan Adzic gained the competitors at today's draw, the first qualifying cycle will air between 15 and 19 October.
Slovenian women will first compete with Belgium at the time, and then perform at Northern Macedonia. In the second cycle between 4 and 8 March, matches with Germany are waiting for in March, and in the third part between 8 and 12 April, return matches with Belgium and Macedonia.
“We have negative experiences with Germany in the recent past, which will certainly be an additional motive to finally overcome it. Northern Macedonia is in the process with a new young coach and will certainly require quality analysis and preparation, while Belgium has long been not at the level to qualify for the biggest competitions. I believe that our new generation of actresses will taste playing at the European Championships and that in each high -level qualifying match it will fulfill all the tasks, « coach Adžić told the RZS.
Germany has won all three matches in the recent period. First, she was better in Neo Ulm in the qualifying tournament for the Paris Olympics (31:25), then in the French capital (41:22), and after the spring of the team, Slovenia also competed with it in December at the last EP (35:16).
The Slovenian women last played with Northern Macedonia in 2022 at the European Cup, Slovenian women then won both duels – in Celje with 29:28, and in Skopje with 27:20. With the Belgians, who have not yet performed at any of the big competitions, the Slovenian type of experience yet has no experience.
The EP will host five countries for the first time in history between 3 and 20, 2026, and the co -focus is Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Turkey. Since Norway, Denmark and Hungary, have secured the city with a medal at the last EP, there are 16 more in the competition. They will directly qualify for the best national teams of each of the six qualifying teams and the four best third -ranked national team qualifications.
Slovenian handball players will be chasing the tenth appearance on the EP. They swung the highest in 2022, when they finished eighth in the domestic competition, and last year they were rejuvenated with the tenth team.
