Adazi promises both bicycles and observatory / day

In the municipal elections four years ago, the biggest competitors of the Adazi County, which was established in Adazi and Carnikava region, were the Latvian Association of Regions (LRA) with the current candidate for mayor of Riga, the Saeima deputy Māris Sprindžuks at the lead and the Latvian Farmers’ Union (LZS).

Thus, there is some intrigue on how the absence of previous leaders on the lists will affect the results of the 2025 elections. This year, eight lists have been involved in the fight, or one more than 2021. The number of deputies to be elected is 15, and five parties submitted a full list (18 candidates). There are ideas that are repeated in several political forces programs – increasing participation budget, implementing a county map, arranging a public transport network inside the county, etc.

Wants individual counties

At the forefront of the LRA list is the current chairman of the City Council Karina Mikelsone. There are also several existing Members, including Snowd Brakovsky, who was elected from four years ago The new unity (JV) list. The LRA promises to promote the construction of a new VUGD building in Kadaga, in cooperation with Kadaga’s military base. It is planned to rebuild bridges in Potnieks and Dzirnupe, connect to the Sigulda highway and build cycle paths from Carnikava to Riga and Adazi, as well as between the villages. The construction of nature, technology and engineering (Steam) Corps in Adazi Secondary School, the development of Carnikava Secondary School is also planned, and, without specifying, it is about « Gymnasium quality education opportunities in the Adazi region ». The LRA also promises to develop the smart business quarter, creating co -production space and office space for entrepreneurs.

Since the end of 2022, the ruling coalition has LZS, which was in opposition immediately after the election. The first list is Gatis Miglāns, Member of the City Council, but the current deputy chairman of the City Council Genovefa Kozlovska starts with the fifth number. « Our vision for further spatial development of the county – Carnikava Parish and the city of Adazi with the parish – there is reason to be two separate municipalities: Carnikava must become a city, but Adazi parishes must fully cover the territories of Garkalne and Baltezers villages, » the program said.
