Actor Luis Lorenzo and his partner will go to trial for the alleged illegal detention of his aunt | Spain

The head of the Court of Instruction number 9 of Arganda del Rey, in Madrid, has opened an oral trial against Actor Luis Lorenzo and his partner, Arancha Suárez Palomino, for the illegal arrest of Isabel Suárez, aunt of her, who died in 2021 at 85. In the process, the couple is being investigated for illegal detention, for a crime against their moral integrity, aggravated scam and unfair administration, since they stayed with their property after their death. The judge has ruled out the crime of homicide, as investigated at the beginning of the process. The Prosecutor’s Office asks for six years in prison for the couple, two and a half years for the caretaker of the old woman and that the three indemnify the heirs of the victim with 19,400 euros.

This court opened this cause when Isabel Suárez died at the couple’s house. Some relatives suspected that it could be an unnatural death, since the old woman lived autonomously in Asturias. It was after moving to Madrid with his niece when he became ill and died. A first autopsy determined that it was a death of homicidal etiology, by poisoning with cadmium and manganese, although This hypothesis was discarded after other forensic reports considered that there were no objective data to ensure it.

What the magistrate has maintained is the will of the actor and her partner to « isolate » and « incommunicate » the deceased to control her heritage. If, the judicial process advanced, the crime of illegal detention will not be appreciated, the judge asks that it be replaced by coercion and habitual abuse in the family. The head of the Court also requests that a crime against moral integrity and an illegal detention crime be opened for a crime For the caretaker that both hired to serve the victim.

For its part, the popular accusation exercised by the family of Isabel Suárez requests a sentence of ten and a half years in prison for Luis Lorenzo for a continuous crime of aggravated fraud, another of illegal detention and another of habitual abuse in the family. For the niece of the deceased, they ask for that same penalty and six months in prison for a crime of falsehood in official document. Finally, for the caregiver, they ask for four years in prison for illegal or, subsidiarily, two years in jail for coercion and three for abuse. They also ask for compensation of 17,483 euros to the heirs of Isabel Suárez.
