Activists urged the government to enter the monumental work « Bird » in Cherkasy region to the list of cultural heritage objects.

The mosaic « Bird » by Alla Gorskaya and Viktor Zaretsky – the mosaic of Alla Gorskaya and Viktor Zaretsky in the village of Helmiazov, Zolotonisky district, Cherkasy region, located on the pediment and columns of the dining room « Supy » and is the last joint work of Alla Gorsk and Viktor Zaretsky. Mosaic was created in 1970« , – the petition reads.

The mosaic « Bird » was created in 1970 on the facade of the rural dining room « Supiy », in Helmiazev in Cherkasy region. This is the last mosaic created by Alla Gorsk together with her husband Viktor Zaretsky shortly before her murder.

In particular, they also called for the restoration of the facade and mosaic.

About the inheritance of Alla Gorskaya

On November 28, 1970, at about five o’clock in the morning, the artist and public activist Alla Gorska left her apartment in Kiev on Repin Street 25 (now Tereshchenkovskaya) to make it to the first bus to Vasylkov. There she had to pick up a sewing machine from Ivan Zaretsky’s mother -in -law and return home.

The next day near the Fastiv-2 railway station on the tracks found the body of Ivan Zaretsky with a torn head. Three days after that, in the cellar of his house with a fracture of the skull from the impact of the ax, they found Dead Gorsk.

The Soviet investigation concluded that Ivan Zaretsky killed the daughter -in -law because of personal dislike and then committed suicide. Already in the times of independent Ukraine found that the artist was killed by the Soviet special services.

In the 1960s, the artist traveled a lot, was on art trips with her husband in the Donbass, traveled to villages, and collected material in all trips, which then rethinking, embodying in her works.

In Kiev, it creates a composition « Wind » on the facade of the « Windmill » restaurant; in Zhdanov (then the name of Mariupol) – panel « Blooming Ukraine » for gastron « Kiev »; In Donetsk – mosaic panel for experimental school №5.

In 1963, a group of artists Opanas Zalivakha, Lyudmila Semykina, Galina Sevruk, Galina Zubchenko and Alla Gorska began to create stained glass for the 150th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko in the lobby of the Red Corps of Kiev University commissioned. However, the customers did not satisfy the work, so one day it was crushed.

In July 2022 in Mariupol Russians destroyed two mosaic panels -« Tree of Life » and « Boryviter » Alla Gorskaya. Most of the mosaic has survived, but because of the occupation of the city, their fate is now unknown.
