Accuse their bosses of bullying
Among them is Kristjana Óladóttir, who started working in the Gulf of Fax Bay in November 2008 and says in a conversation with Morgunblaðið that she has been working on it for two years.
When the cashier’s position was released, she was offered that job and she served until 2023.
Taken on the carpet
« Then she started to take me on the carpet, which I had never encountered before, and the communication was not good, » says Kristjana, claiming to have been repeatedly ignored.
A payment system was changed in the Gulf of Faxi ports, which she claims to have never been instructed to use and thus made it difficult to do her work.
She claims to have had the abdomen for every day of work and sought support from the human resources manager, who has always taken up the glove for the head of department, and the same has been the case when she approached the port manager.
The situation was overwhelming and difficult, and Kristjana says that when she applied to Ragnheiði head of department, there was no support there.
Was in bankruptcy
« She just got up and walked away, » says Kristjana, who says she yelled and talked to her. She said she had been in bankruptcy and sought her colleague in her trials, who advised her to talk to a business manager who had recently started working for the company.
He spoke to Gunnar Tryggvason, the port manager in the future, but this has led to the port manager being involved with her and said that the communication was not working between her and Ragnheiði, and it was complained that she did not want to work overtime.
Kristjana, however, said he had never been asked for this. She says that the port manager has invited to take up another job within the Gulf of Faxes. It turned out to be a half -day work in the kitchen offered by Kristjanna treasurer.
She said she had endured the day but bowed and subsequently sought a doctor and also a psychologist who diagnosed her with a traumatic stress disorder. She went on sick leave for that reason.
She received a call from the port manager some time later that he announced that he had hired another person in the job of cashier in her place, but that offers for a kitchen job still stood.
A little later, she says that the port manager called back and asked if she was at home, because a letter of termination was on the way she needed to receive. It took effect on July 1, 2023.
Threat
Guðbjörg Erlingsdóttir was hired to work close to the end of the year 2017/2018 and worked as a secretary and archivist and in the telephone cancellation. She does not have her superiors well.
Guðbjörg claims to have been in a coffee break last November. along with two other employees when Ragnheiður Ragnarsdóttir arrived. Guðbjörg was then reading in a magazine and says Ragnheiði has come up with a preparation that she found threatening.
Guðbjörg says that she has offered a good day, but with a servant. The day after Guðbjörg heard that Ragnheiður had filed a formal complaint that she had not accepted her greeting. Guðbjörg also says that Ragnheiður has filed a complaint to another person for the only reason to have stood up from the table when she arrived there.
« Subsequently, I was called by Olaf Human Resources Manager and Gunnar Port Manager and I announced that a formal complaint had been made to me for ignoring Ragnheiði and not offering her a good day, » says Guðbjörg, mentioning that two employees have been bullied.
Guðbjörg says that she was required to interview with a communication counselor at a psychology firm as well as the person who had stood up from the tables. She said she did not have good experience with such, but requested her union that its representative be present.
When Guðbjörg was chewing on the meeting with the union representative, she received a message from the human resources manager of the Gulf of Faxes that the Psychology Agency’s communication consultant did not consider it a basis to meet her, but if she was ready to improve her communication, Faxaflóhöfn was ready to pay for one meeting.
Guðbjörg believes that the reason was that she intended to get the union representative at the meeting.
Termination without explanation
These events took place last January. And at the beginning of February, Guðbjörg was called to a port manager and announced that she did not show enough conciliation, which she rejected. She says the port manager has taken it badly and said she wanted to repair her a retirement agreement. It was terminated without explanation, but no retirement agreement was concluded.
Justification was requested for the dismissal, but when they were received, they were not credible. Tam was named for bullying, which was not the case when it was supposed to be taken. Guðbjörg’s case is now being dealt with by her union.
On the Board’s agenda after Easter
« Board members certainly do not generally step into individual staff issues, but I can confirm that we have received complaints, » says Hildur Björnsdóttir, citizen of the Independence Party in Reykjavik and a board member of the Fax Gulf.
She was asked if the board of directors of the company would respond to the complaints of former Fax Bay staff over the appearance of officers in their yard, but it has been stated that they have been complained about with the company’s directors as well as elected representatives of the municipalities who own the company.
« When a case of that kind has reached a certain number, I generally consider it a reason to start a workplace analysis. I expect the matter to be on the agenda of the next board meeting, now after Easter, » she says.
