Accidentally find a long missing statue

Bust of white marble and covered with graffiti who adorned the grave of the American singer The Doors JIM MORRisondisappeared mysteriously in 1988. A few days ago, he was miraculously and by chance found again. As reported Guardianduring a house search, the police encountered a statue that was in good condition – still full of graffiti and without a nose, but this organ lost before it disappeared, as it was « stolen » by the hunters of the souvenirs.

The statue designed as a tribute to Morrison was carved by a Croatian artist after his death Mladen Mikulin. In 1981, ten years after the death of the singer, he was placed on his grave in the Père-Lachaise Paris Cemetery. Morrison has died barely 27 years old and the circumstances of his death still remain wrapped in a veil of mystery.

His grave immediately after his death became the center of pilgrimage of fans who danced there, smoking grass, drinking alcohol and having fun with one of the most famous « residents » of Père-Lachais. The cemetery managers finally overcame and the grave began to protect the guard. Nevertheless, one day the famous bust disappeared. Rumors began to circulate about what could happen – some said that the statue weighing 128 pounds took two fans on their moped one night, while others believed that the city administration had withdrawn it because it wanted to protect it.

In 1994, the guard captured two Americans who wanted to put their bronze version of the bust on the grave. One of them said that he had traveled from Utah and spent thousands of dollars from his own pension fund to bring a statue to Paris, but was removed by the cemetery managers.

The original just discovered the singer’s fans, but it is still unclear if they will return it to the singer’s grave.

Jim Morrison was born on 8 December 1943 in Melbourne, Florida as James Douglas Morrison. He has been an enthusiastic reader since childhood, and he tried early on writing. Some poets and philosophers made a big impression on it, especially Friedrich Nietzsche and Arthur Rimbaud.

In 1965 he met three musicians and founded The Doors with them. Everything else is music history. For the audience, Morrison was irresistibly attractive, and for the owners of clubs and the guardian of public order and peace, it was dangerous as a time bomb, as he always did something illicit under the influence of drugs – let’s say he undressed to the naked.

How and why he died on July 3, 1971 one of the most charismatic singers in rock history, may never be really explained. Paris, where he retreated to devote himself to writing poetry and shaken off alcohol and drugs, did not bring him mental peace, he could not escape. A fateful morning, his girlfriend found him dead in a bathtub. Since there were no signs of violence on the body, after the French laws, autopsy was not required, and the official cause of death was considered to be heart failure.
