The De Wever government wants to implement a pension reform to keep people working longer. But the mypenson.be government site is currently not taking into account the announced reforms, since the measures have not yet been converted into legal texts.
ABVV has therefore launched the Mypensionarizona.be website, where people can discover when they can retire at the earliest. A new retirement date is simulated on the basis of the data in MyPension. The tool does only apply to employees and not for officials.
According to the trade union, four in ten employees will have to work at least a year longer to gain access to early retirement. For example, 20 percent of employees would « lose » the year of graduation. In addition, people who work part -time will also have to work longer.
ABVV believes that the conditions for early retirement are too strict. Moreover, the amount of the pension is in danger of being reduced for anyone who is still siring off before the statutory retirement age. « Employees would be punished in this way for periods of involuntary inactivity such as illness and temporary unemployment, » the trade union criticizes. « This must be adjusted. »
