Abused the behavior of a citizen: « I apologize »

A resident of Grafarvogur, who was at a heat meeting, says he was offended when Alexandra Briem, Pirate’s mayor and deputy representative in the Environment and Planning Council, spoke to guests of a city meeting on planning issues in Gufunes on March 20.

She says Alexandra has « screamed » on her mother, put the chest forward and bathed her hands with a cramped fist. She is said to have raised her voice and said « are you saying I’m lying. »

Alexandra herself does not recognize that they had a fist, but says that the incident is led and he sees to raise the Rome.

The resident is called Bergthora Long and is a 28 -year -old Grafarvogs resident. The accompanying video shows the aftermath of the incident where Bergthora is obviously offended by Alexandra’s reaction.

However, the incident itself is not on the video.

Bergthora was at the meeting with her mother, which she claims to have been told that the city was lying about the development of transport around a building block in Jöfurbás in Gufunes where two blocks have risen. Subsequently, Alexandra reacted unkindly.

« We did not blame her for lying, but said the city had lied when talking about transport structure, » says Bergthora.

Both she and her mother are employees at the City of Reykjavik. Bergthora works with the disabled but her mother in elementary school.

« This is not an acceptable behavior of an elected representative. I would never behave like this in my work, to show a disabled person that I am something better than him or to look at me as a person in power towards someone and behave like this.

Did not have my best day

Alexandra says in a conversation with mbl.is that she did not have her best day at the meeting.

« It was a difficult meeting and not my best day.

Alexandra Briem, a Pirate citizen, is sorry if the resident experienced threatening behavior.

She says she would be sorry if Bergthora’s mother experienced a threat from her events.

« I feel sorry for her to experience it that way, as I apologized to her when I realized that she felt that way. But it was never my purpose to be threatening, » says Alexandra.

« I didn’t feel good either »

Asked, Alexandra says that many at the meeting have been dissatisfied and down regarding the structural ideas that are in Grafarvogur where MA stands to build on green squares.

« Basically, I experienced three relatively hot conversations at the same time when it came up. There were panic there and I can totally understand that people feel bad about this. I didn’t feel good either and of course I didn’t have to raise the rum like that.
