About two -thirds of Members / Day will change in the Riga City Council
The biggest changes are related to the arrival of Ainars Schlersse’s « Latvia in the first place » (LPV) in the council and the « Harmony » party.

Four new MPs, including Mairita Lūse, who has already been a member of the Riga City Council, could be elected from the « progressive » list, but is currently operating in the Saeima.

As reported, the LPV has won the highest number of votes in local elections in the Riga City Council, but the Progressive and NA have also achieved very close results, according to the preliminary election results compiled by the Central Election Commission.
Summarizing data from all polling stations, the LPV gained 18.17% of the vote, which gives 13 of the 60 mandates in the City Council.
16.62% of voters voted for « progressive », giving them 11 Member’s mandates, NA – 14.2% of voters, who give it 10 mandates, but the current Mayor of Riga, Vilnius Cherry, gained 12.9% of voters. As a result, JV will receive nine posts.
The SV/AJ gained 12.13% of the vote and could be eight mandates. Two more political forces – the « stability » party, supported by 6.94% of voters, and AS, supported by 6.29% of voters, which allows five and four mandates respectively.
Other parties, including « Latvia’s Development », « Harmony », « Honor to serve Riga » and the combined list of the Greens and Farmers’ Union, have not entered the Riga City Council.
In total, 60 deputies should be elected to the Riga City Council.
Voter activity in Riga reached 52.2%in these elections.
