About 5,000 people visited Riigikogu
On the open door of the Tompea castle, about 5,000 guests were visited. They were able to get acquainted with the premises and the work of the parliament and chat with politicians.
There were guests from various foreign states, for example, Switzerland, China, Germany, the USA, Finland, Argentina, Spain, Kenya, Italy, Canada and Malaysia, the Riigikogu press service reports.
Open Day began with a welcoming concert of the quintet of wind instruments of the Tallinn police orchestra and choir Riigikogu. This year, the open day was timed to the year of the book and the singing and dance holiday.
Speaking at the opening, Lauri Hussar said that he was glad to welcome everyone in the most important building of Estonia. “In the building where the most important decisions are made. The most important task of the riigikoga is to adopt decisions and laws. And he knows how to do it. Let decisions be born in disputes, hot discussions, but we know how to accept them. But today this building, in addition to discussions and interesting conversations, is also filled with dancing, songs and joy, ”said Hossar.
Hussar said that he was glad to speak with the choir of Riigikogu, who greeted guests on the open day, and also seeks to take part in the upcoming singing festival. “This is a good example of how you can work in Riigikoga in the name of achieving a single goal. All political forces are represented in the choir of Riigikogu, and this is the best example of how to create the future of Estonia, ”said the speaker of Riigikogu.
“The multi -layer motto of the ISEOMA summer holiday is perfect for describing this day – on the one hand, it carries a relationship between each person and the state. On the other hand, he reminds us that the whole of Estonia belongs to us – the country that we give under the defense of the Riigikoga in every election, ”said Margus Toomla, the head of the Central Bank of the Estonian Feast of Song and Dance.
On the open day, one could visit the workers and representative premises of the Riigikoga and the fractions, as well as meet with deputies. The popularity of visitors, as usual, was used by tours of the castle and visiting the long German tower. Members of Riigikogu Kristo Anne Vaga and Antiolametets also conducted excursions on the castle.
A discussion was held in the cafe in which members of Riigikogu Kristo Anne Vaga, Ando Kivim, Madis Callas, Rene Cocke, Riina Solman and Lauri Laats took part. The topic of discussion was the preparation of the state and the population for force majeure. The moderator was Wino Urmas.
Four school teams and two Riigikogu teams took part in the traditional mnomovictoric. In an equal struggle for the first place, the II team of Riigikogu, which included Anne Esmaa, Andrei Korobeinik, Eeric-Ninles Cross and Toyvo Mangel, won. The second place was taken by the I team of Riigikogu. The third place and title of the best school team was won by the I team of the gymnasium named after Gustava Adolf, which included Mirter Rist, Maria Muinasmaa, Mortimer Toming and Mikk Toots. The mnemovictorin was prepared and conducted by famous players of the mnemovictorin Indrect Salis and Aara Olander.
On the occasion of the year, various events were offered to visitors the National Library, the Katarina Jee library bus, Tallinn libraries, the Estonian Center for Children’s Literature, the Estonian Cinema Institute and SA RIIGIVANEM AUGUST REI. The day ended with a concert dedicated to the singing and dance holiday, which was the mixed chorus of Kalamaya, the dance ensemble of the Soft Center for Education Kullo and Karmoškaässad.
Open Day was dedicated to the 106th anniversary of Riigikoga. The first representative body – the Constituent Assembly – was convened in Tallinn on April 23, 1919. Since 1999, Riigikogu has celebrated this significant event at the opening day. This year the event was held for the 25th time.
