About 1,500 seats cleaned up in the Great Cleanup; the most dangerous find
Most of the 53 places of the work were registered in the territory of Riga Kurzeme district and Zemgale suburb, so Dana Nadolska, a representative of the area, will receive the prize as the most active coordinator of the Big Cleanup.
The most unusual waste this time is more about cleaning several water bodies – an unexploded aviation ball in Lake Talsi, scooter, glass, reinforcement elements, plastic sleds and sofa in Lake Jugla, Lielupe near Jelgava – bulky steel waste, informed Rosenberg.
The organizers of the Big Cleanup are delighted that about half of the registered cleanup were associated with landscape improvement and other works for nature and community. In many parts of Latvia are planted by bright bushes, flower beds, bird cages, organized nature trails, and the coasts of the sea. In many places, cultural work was also held, libraries were also active, and the resting places and areas of cultural sites were cleaned up. For example, representatives of the Stender Society and the National Library of Latvia (LNB) cleaned up Gothard Friedrich Stender’s « picture of the picture » and « High Wisdom Books » and planted a memorial oak for the long -time director of the NLL. Many areas adjacent to churches are also cleaned.
Rosenberg informed that kindergartens also participated in the work, with children and parents improving their territories, as well as schools, encouraging sustainable thinking. The Ministry of the Interior and several municipalities, when thinking about civilian security and protection, paid attention to the basement to clean up. In several places, stops have been repaired and repainted and local report boards have been created.
Referring to the invitation of the Song Festival Society and the Great Cleanup, choirs, folklore groups, dancers, orchestras, often participated in the help of the county’s work and encouraging people. The challenges of the modern era are also gaining visibility – digital waste and their elimination in individual digital work, which is informed by the Latvian State Radio and Television Center.
Also, the diaspora communities were planned for work, for example, in this big help about 100 talenters gathered in the Latvian owned by « Straumeni » in the UK, in Georgia, the resting place of the Latvian community of Latvian community, Robert Kupčs, in Tbilisi, in Canada, in Canada, the territory of Ottawa Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church. This year, 12 foreign embassies participated in the Great Cleanup, and the Irish Ambassador to Latvia, Ēmera Friel, helped their participation in the work.
Rosenberg informed that on September 20, which has been included in the UN internationally marked day calendar since last year, Latvia with the code « Celebrate Nature! » It will continue to participate with sea coast care, happiness tree stock and other good works for the natural and world ecosystem.
