Abbas roughly attacked « Hamas »: disarm, let go hostages, hand over gas

Western and Arab countries question the viability of the Palestinian power in its present form and its capacity to rule a gas as part of a lasting decision for the day after the Gaza war. Israel, meanwhile, refuses to accept any role of Palestinian power controlling the West Bank (although its staff practically assisted a truce between January and March for two months).

Negotiations in the middle of new strikes

The renewal of Israeli operations at the same time returned to the table the conversation for a lasting truce – for years – discussed at Hamas decades ago. The current version of the plan that Arab mediators are working on is the release of all hostages.

Egypt-led dialogue, which includes a 5-7 year truce, also envisages the opportunity for a committee of politically independent technocrats to manage gas. It is believed that Hamas accepts the idea to convey power more than that to disarm.

In the meantime, Israeli strikes on Gaza continue, with 1600 people reaching 1600 people since mid -March. The target, according to the army, was introduced among the civilian fighters of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, and efforts were made to limit the effect on civilians.

Abbas spoke to the Central Council of the Organization for the Liberation of Palestine (OOP), which has the status of an observer in the UN as a legitimate representative of the Palestinian people and dominates the Palestinian power. His Fatah faction has been in a strained relationship with Hamas for years after a conflict between the two forces after the 2005 election left a gas in the hands of the Islamists.

According to him, Hamas should hand over the strip so that it does not give Israel to destroy it. However, such a statement made Abbas even before before he called on Hamas to stop « giving the occupation (Israeli – ed.) The army apology to continue with his genocide. »

Among the arguments for the renewal of the battles – regardless of the collapse in the military capacity of the group – was the need to deprive the opportunity of Hamas to manage the gas. Critics of this decision have associated the new Israeli offensive with political motives (an opinion shared by many Israelis and in studies).
