The A1 Telekom Austria Group improves in the first quarter, Austria’s state result deteriorates.
The A1 Telekom Austria has improved your operational result this year in the first quarter compared to the same period last year. The group’s profit before interest, taxes and depreciation (EBITDA) increased by 5.2 percent to EUR 477.9 million, as the company announced on Tuesday evening. The state result for Austria, on the other hand, deteriorated from 236 to EUR 227.6 million.
Without restructuring, the EBITDA would have grown by 8.1 percent of the group of companies. The restructuring costs rose by EUR 15 million at the annual distance.
Increasing sales
According to the information, sales increased by 3.7 percent to EUR 1.31 billion. In Germany there was a much stronger increase from 601 to EUR 652.6 million. Overall, the number of customers has increased by 8.4 percent.
« Despite a challenging macroeconomic and market environment, we were able to start with a solid performance in 2025, » said the A1 Group CEO, Alejandro Plater, via broadcast. The growth of sales is carried out by higher service and device sales.
Only in Austria no revenue growth from services
In the first quarter, both the proceeds from services – as well as the proceeds from the sale of end devices rose throughout the group. The results would have benefited from the solid demand for high-speed broadband, B2B-Digital Services and TV products, supported by valuable measures, according to Vice-Group CEO Thomas Arnoldner.
The RGU – so -called revenue -generating units – increased by 1.8 percent in the year. Fixed network and TV RGU grew by 2.6 and 7.5 percent.
2025 only exposed to slight sales plus
For 2025, the telecom group continues to expect sales growth of 2 to 3 percent. The estimated system accesses (Capex) without spectrum investments and acquisitions are screwed back from 850 to 800 million euros for this year.
As one of the highlights, Plater described the start of broadband services on the fiber optic infrastructure in Serbia, which was taken over in 2023. (APA)
