J. Balsienė is from the village in Kretinga district. In her childhood memories, Klaipeda is a city to which she and her mother went shopping.

« We saw the buildings that collapsed during the war. It was unusual to see the dark, red brick houses. Mom was carrying eggs and other foods. We were most waiting for it that brought her extremely delicious buns, » the woman recalled about post -war Klaipeda.

J. Balsienė acquired secondary education much later, after coming to the port city, because her village was only a seven -year school.

He lived in the countryside for a few more years, wanted to help his mother so that she would not be so difficult to work when working on government gardens and working on mandatory work days for government.

She lost her dream of becoming a Lithuanian language teacher.

Did not want to join the Komsomol

A woman who has never complained about anything remembers how to dance in her youth with a toothpick -shaped shoes, and went to church barefoot and only brought shoes against the city.

Such things did not cry or complain.

« These were the ugliest times when we often found blood stains on the road in the morning. Also, I did not want me to go to the Komsomol. I was a village child, I did not receive education, I regretted my mother, so I left to help her. I have educated, bright people as teachers and now my neighbors, ”said J. Balsienė.

The educator became her daughter, whom the woman is proud of. And a neighbor who has worked as a Lithuanian, intellectual communication gives her a pleasure to talk about important and interesting things.

Rushes to the box

After living with her husband Stephen, she is happy to have a strong life of life and a fellow man.

We go out with my husband to buy milk, and we are already finding our daily pleasant ritual when we return, ”said a woman living on the southern side of the city with the daily Klaipėda. – I find out everything from the newspaper: the news, what’s good and what happened to bad. I always start reading from the first page, the issues of the city are very interesting to me. I especially like the opinion page. It is very wondering what people live, what makes them happy and what they are angry about. I like to read the section of Saul Pocius. Very sharp in his word. ”

Only articles on lifestyle are not relevant to her, so they are sometimes useful. At a good age, J. Balsienė asserted that she was simply no longer relevant.

Shares publications

Mr Balsiene admitted that a sad day for her is Monday, when the newspaper does not leave. The woman regretted that her presentation was so expensive that the editorial staff had to abandon the publication of that day.

No matter how some articles or photos I like, J. Balsienė does not cut the newspaper because she has an unwritten agreement with neighbors.

Both have read the newspaper with their husbands to their neighbors, and they share it with their vowel publications. This is how everyone wins – they get a lot of interesting publications.

« It is great that we have good neighbors, bright educated people, similar views. And to communicate with them is nice and sharing the press, » the interlocutor praised.

Rebirth – and in the newspaper

Now, a woman who often introduces himself to journalists in Klaipėda or just a reader of « Hot Phone » confesses that he had not read the texts published on the first pages during the Soviet era.

The praise and unnecessary mountains of words about nothing were not only interesting to her.

But in those days there were interesting articles about working people and their professions in the city newspaper. It was curious to find out what was being built, a lot of then written about events in the city.

« That was the time, we lived like everyone, we read the same thing, we visited the same concerts, we were in the same stores, » said J. Balsienė openly. It was very sensitive that she refreshed our dialect, customs, and founded « Samogitian Alcanes ». I remember Pran Martinkus’ texts, Gražina Julytė, I remember very beautiful photos of Antanas Stanevičius. He was then the editor of the newspaper. ”

Communicates without anger

J. Balsienė is a loyal interlocutor of the Hot Phone. Her calm and benevolent way is manifested even when she wants to reprimand or criticize something.

According to Mrs. Jeronima, when she called a « hot phone », she feels as if she had to interact with familiar people, agreeing to others, wanting to object. Sometimes she writes the text he would like to bring to the editorial office of the newspaper. But now it is possible to talk to journalists live and they present readers’ thoughts in the opinion section.

The most painful topic for her is the destruction of the Lithuanian language. Therefore, in the section of opinion, the woman is angry with incomprehensible names of shops and companies, constantly heard by non -Lithuanian songs on state radio and television.

« Now there is nothing to complain about – we can buy everything that the heart desires, the home is neatly tidied up, painted, the yards of the car is no longer. I still wonder their professionalism. How much knowledge, inner heat you need to have to keep the articles not only interesting but also kindly read. There is no such « Klaipeda » newspaper where I would not find a topic that I would not like to share my opinion. I do not necessarily criticize or contradict, but also agree or emphasize some idea. At the same time, I don’t want to be too intrusive with my calls, so I’m not calling every week. I do not like to be in the spotlight, so I often ask for my name after my opinion to write that the reader of the truth said it, ”said J. Balsiene.
