– a wide and varied offer in Alta’s kindergartens
As a toddler with two children in Alta’s kindergartens from the autumn, I am pleased to see that the settlement of the new Kindergarten Act still ensures a great diversity in Norwegian kindergartens in the future. Half of Norwegian children are currently in private kindergartens.
Fortunately, they will continue to be allowed and those who have been afraid of losing their kindergarten can finally put the fear behind them thanks to the Right being negotiating our solutions into the settlement.
Earlier in May, we were able to read in the media that 37 children in Alta stood without kindergarten, nine of these had statutory right kindergarten. It emphasizes the importance of preserving all kindergartens regardless of who owns them, because we are completely dependent on each of them to secure all children space in kindergarten in the future.
In Alta municipality we have 12 municipal kindergartens and 14 private kindergartens. For the private kindergarten providers, it is essential that they will still be treated equally and retain today’s funding model in order to preserve the good and varied offer in the municipality.
Private kindergartens are important to ensure a broad and varied offer in kindergartens. In Alta, we have several of these alternatives where they can choose between concepts such as nature, sports, farm and music kindergartens to name a few. It ensures that parents can choose the offer that suits their children best among the diversity of different kindergarten concepts.
