A week full of colors, music and tradition

The capital of Spring started yesterday's celebrations for Summer Day, turning the city into a vibrant scene full of music, colors and festive atmosphere. Like every year, Elbasan welcomes thousands of visitors from all over Albania, who come together in a celebration that embodies the tradition, culture and joy of coming spring.
The celebrations were opened with the activity « Heritage in the little hands », where the children of city gardens displayed their talent through traditional games, artwork and festive songs.
Elbasan Mayor Gledian Latja greeted the participants in his speech and stressed that this year the celebrations will last a week, with a rich program culminating on March 15, when the city will turn into a large festive arena.
“OfLbasani lives differently in Summer Day and this year we have expanded activities to make this holiday even more special. From traditional costume defiles, great concerts, exhibitions and culinary fairs, to children's and young activities, Elbasan will be the epicenter of spring celebrations« Latja said.

It will be a festive week full of surprises.
On the evening of March 12, the defile of traditional costumes returns, a parade that will bring the culture and folklore of the Albanian territories to the scene.
March 13 will bring the fiery atmosphere of the Summer Night, where concerts and artistic performances will last until the early hours of the morning.
On March 14, a rich program of activities will culminate with the Super Concert of the evening, while on March 15 and 16 the celebrations will continue with activities for children, traditional fairs and cultural events.
“This year, Elbasan is ready to welcome all those who want to live this holiday in the heart of tradition. I invite you all, wherever you are, come to Elbasan and celebrate this beautiful heritage together, bringing energy, joy and love for a good spring, ”added Mayor Latja.
