A third of youth is tuned to a quick change of work
Almost a third of youth (33%) is originally tuned to a quick change of workplaces for the sake of obtaining a variety of experience or finding the work that will completely arrange them, follows from the report of the VTIOMA “Employment of Youth in modern Russia”. The study is based on a survey of 1.6 thousand Russians out of four target groups – these are senior students of universities and colleges and their graduates.
Most often, students of senior college courses are oriented to regularly change work – among them, the share of those reaches 36%. In the long -term construction of a career in one place, young specialists with higher education are more interested – only 29%want to change employers among them. The desire for a dynamic career, the authors of the report note, can push young people to neglect the official registration of labor relations – which, we note, is contrary to the policy of the authorities to combat shadow employment (see “Kommersant” from April 28). Often, respondents are also important to receive payments daily, as is the case within the framework of piecework (and not twice a month), and sometimes to save on tax deductions. It should be noted that earlier “Kommersant” has already written that in a number of regions the companies are forced to pay a gray salary to employees at their own request – however, then it was about age -related specialists with expired loans (for more details, “Kommersant” dated May 23, 2024).
The VTsome data confirms that young Russians are increasingly starting a career already during their studies – that they worked as part -time last year, 77% of university senior students reported during the survey. At the same time, 32% worked at the full rate at some limited period of time. In the first place was the work during the holidays (17%), one -time employment during the school period (13%) and work instead of studying (4%). It should be noted that this trend meets the goals of the government, stated in the new national project “Personnel”, to reduce the start of the start of the career in order to minimize the gap between the skills that students receive in educational institutions, and those requirements that employers impose on them.
According to the authors of the report, if earlier universities “perceived the employer as an enemy who competes with them during the student, now they see the situation more adequately.” Employers, in turn, strive to start working with young applicants as early as possible – to solve the problem of lack of personnel in the labor market with their help with the minimum unemployment indicator by historical standards (2.3% in March of this year).
