A teenager dead after earthquake in Turkey

The earthquake had its epicenter Just outside Marmaris in Turkey and occurred at 02.17, the night before Tuesday. The quake felt in several nearby regions, including on the Greek island of Rhodes. Many must have been brought out of sleep, reported the Turkish TV channel NTV.

– My husband and I are quite used to travelers and have been involved in several earthquakes. But this was special. I have never heard such a severe bang in connection with the quake, says Elisabeth Zoladz from Nacka, who is at southern Rhodes.

She and her husband Stanislaw Zoladz woke up tonight, first without really understanding why.

– Then it felt like it was crackling in the house and it was moving. My partner and I immediately recognized the feeling and understood that it was an earthquake, says Elisabeth Zoladz.

But then it narrowed. Loud and distinct, like an explosion.

– I have not experienced that before, clearly it was nasty. It became just silent afterwards, continues Elisabeth Zoladz.

Today in the morning it is just quiet where she is located, no aftershocks have been felt.

Marmaris GovernorIdris Akbiyik, first stated to the TV channel that seven people were cared for for injuries after jumping from windows or balconies in panic, but that there were no immediate reports of serious injuries. On Tuesday morning, however, TT reported that a teenage girl must have died from her injuries.

On X appears one a long line of different pictures on how people gathered outside their houses. There are also pictures from different Surveillance cameras showing how interior design and furniture were shaken and damaged at the quake.
