A spectacle for young athletes is coming, they also expect celebrities
The largest amateur sporting event in the region aimed at children, Plasma Sports Game of Youth (Shim), this year will also offer Slovenian children socializing, joy and sports atmosphere. The main event – the opening of this year’s games – will be held on May 19 in Ljubljana in the Republic Square (11.30), and children will be addressed and encouraged by well -known sports celebrities and ambassadors of games.

Children compete for free
Competitions, tournaments, sports days and educational workshops designed to promote a sustainable mindset in children are already taking place, and at the opening ceremony of sports games, all those who are aware of the importance of healthy young people will gather on Monday. The organizers predict a large spectacle. Following last year’s successful first season of Slovenian sports games, young people are of great interest between children, parents and supporters of games, and more and more media outlets from Slovenia and abroad participate in the event.
Participation in games is free of charge for children, all costs are covered by organizers and partners, including brands – Coca Cola, Plazma and Telemach, and this year they also provided sponsorship support by Slovenian Railways, Zavarovalnica Triglav and Petrol. The project is also supported by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, and assistance in organizing games was provided by Slovenian municipalities and schools.
More than 115 competitions will take place in thirty sports days.
“Times and customs are changing, and some values are eternal and there is certainly a sport among them. Without sports, there is no healthy life or proper growing up, ”said the organizer and president of the youth sports games Zdravko Marićwhich has been spreading awareness of the importance of this extremely useful event for 28 years. In Slovenia, the competition is held in 83 places, with 45 municipalities. In thirty sports days, more than 115 competitions and 30 events under the initiative will take place Zero Wastewhich awareness of the importance of responsible waste management. 130 schools, 30 partner municipalities and three national industry associations participate in the organization, more than 45,000 children will share free sports activities, a team of 80 organizers and 650 volunteers participate.
