Prior to World Migratory Bird Day Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources shared A selection of « most stylish » winged.

In the department They noticedthat the purpose of this day is to draw attention to the protection of birds in their existence, especially in the context of global environmental changes.

In total, more than 420 bird species have been registered in Ukraine, a large part of which changes the place of residence depending on the season.

Black stork

This red -book is called one of the most mysterious in Ukraine. The black stork settles near the marshes and lakes of Polesie and the Carpathians, where it feeds on amphibians, fish and insects.

”To see him is a great rarity: unlike white stork, he avoids human society « – added in the department.

The reproduction of this type is harmful to human economic activity, and the presence of black stork is a testament to the health of the ecosystem.

Urticaria is gray

These small birds can be found in all regions of the country. In April, representatives of this species return to Ukraine. During this period, males try to attract the attention of females with hoarse singing. At the same time, they inflate the throat and swell feathers on the head.

This species builds nests in shrubs or high grasses. The diet of urticaria grays in the summer includes insects, and in the fall – berries.

Birds fly from Ukraine in September to get to the wintering of Africa, Arabia and India.

Golden Chervonochuba

This bird is small in size, but is distinguished by a special color-olive-green plumage from above and brown from below. The males of the species have a bright stain on the car, the color of which varies from orange to red. The females have a yellow « hat ».

Red -boobing is fed by small insects, including spiders and butterflies, sometimes consume coniferous seeds.

These birds are considered as « forests of the forest », because in a year one bird can destroy from 8 to 10 million pests. All because adults bring food to chicks about 400 times a day.

This type is listed in the Red Book of Ukraine.

Singing

Singers are the smallest representatives among their « relatives » who live in Ukraine. They have brown plumage on top and grayish-white with dark spots below. In this case, their neck and breasts are yellowish.

The species returns from winter migration at the end of March and settles almost all over Ukraine. Birds arrange their nests low on trees or in the bushes.

During the season, the birds lay eggs twice – every time in the new nest.

Volove eye

These birds are considered one of the smallest fauna in Ukraine. They have a reddish-brown color with stripes. They settle mainly in the Carpathians, in Polissya and in the forest -steppe zone, preferring moist forests.

Birds of the species of the mowed eye build nests on the ground under the roots of trees, and feed in insects and small invertebrates.

Shepherd

This little bird has a greenish-brown upper body and a yellowish-white bottom. The feathered winter in Africa, from where it returns at the end of March.

In Ukraine, birds live everywhere where there are trees and nests are built on the ground in pits.

The savvy forest

Males and females of this species have a similar appearance-olive color plumage and red-brown neck. The color helps birds mask well in the forest and forest -steppe areas where they live.

Representatives of this species are listed in the Red Book and have the status of endangered. The birds have long, slightly curved beaks.

In Ukraine, they most often occur during migration from northern Europe to Africa or South Asia. You can see these birds on the coast, rarely – in Lviv, Volyn, Khmelnytsky and Zhytomyr regions.
