A resident says the neighborhood kept in hell

Residents of the Skyggnisbraut in Úlfarsárdalur are frightened by the situation that has arisen in the neighborhood. A serious attack yesterday was committed there on a bright day, where one was arrested and another suffered serious injuries.

A resident of the neighborhood who does not want to name his name, says the attack he witnessed is not unique and that police had repeatedly been called and interfered with the same people who were involved in the attack yesterday.

The resident says a group of foreign people and that they keep the neighborhood in hell with violence but also harassment against neighbors.

Videos captured by the attack can be seen when the attacker attacks two men in the middle of the street with a large egg weapon that resembles a sword. A large number of people witnessed the attack, including children who were on their way home from school when the attack occurred.

Women harassed by the same men

Is this the first time this has happened in the neighborhood?

« No, this is not the first time the police have had to call. The police have often come here and had intervention. Before Christmas, a man with a sword was also trying to break into the same block, » says the resident.

« Then a woman in this block has had to let her husband follow her down to the basement, as she dare not go alone for fear of these men. »

The resident also states that these are men of Arab origin.

« These men are just harassing women here, » he says.

« It’s just not something you are used to. And it doesn’t look good if it is to become a daily bread. »

Children in the immediate vicinity when the attack occurred

Then the resident also says he is grateful that it was not worse when the attack occurred. Especially considering how many children were close to the attack.

« There are a lot of children and adolescents on the move exactly when the season is. My son and his friend had just arrived up the slope and were not far away when this happens, » he says.
