BRATISLAVA. A doctor from the clinic of plastic surgery at the Ružinov Hospital in Bratislava had a positive result for illicit substances.
The hospital with this doctor untied employment with immediate effect.
This is the second positive result of the toxicological examination at this clinic during the month, the spokeswoman of the University Hospital Bratislava Eva Kliská informed.
« As part of measures and prevention, the director of UNB Alexander Mayer on April 2 2025 again ordered toxicological examination for illicit substances in all doctors of the clinic of plastic surgery in the Ružinov Hospital. She approached Kliská.

« I strongly condemn such irresponsible actions of doctors. If any employee suspects that he might be under the influence of alcohol or narcotic drugs, or I get such information from some of our workplaces, I will hit vigorously and uncompromisingly, » Mayer said.
He added, however, that he does not consider the correct generalization of the behavior of healthcare professionals based on individual failures.
According to him, the UNB continues to work with honest and decent health professionals who care about the health and lives of patients, and they will always have his full confidence and support.
