A nightmare return from holidays. Smoke on the plane, the pilot reacted quickly
It was a flight on Saturday evening. It all started when the Airbus A320 aircraft was already flying calmly at an altitude of 36,000 feet. At some point, a strange smell of smoke appeared on board, and a moment later a fire alarm started. It got nervous in the cabin.
The pilot did not wait a moment – he immediately decided on an emergency landing. Instead of landing as planned in Bristol, the machine was directed to Izmir in Turkey. There she securely settled on the waist, just 80 minutes after the start from Pafos.

In the official announcement, Easyjet informed: « We can confirm that the flight of Ezy2902 from Pafos to Bristol was redirected to Izmir due to technical problems that caused a felt smell of smoke on board. »
Fortunately, everything ended well. « The aircraft landed safely in Izmir, and the help of emergency services was only a routine and preventive remedy. All passengers left the deck normally and went to the terminal » – added the carrier.
The lines provided travelers accommodation in the hotel and meals, and the same day a replacement aircraft was substituted, which was to bring them to their destination.
Easyjet emphasized: « The safety of our customers and crew is the highest priority. Easyjet exploits its fleet of aircraft in strict compliance with all guidelines of producers. »
Although everything ended happily, for many passengers it was a journey that they will not forget for a long time.
