A nightmare accident in Gdynia. The accelerated car got into the stop
Everything happened on Friday, May 23 around 16. A few people were waiting for the bus towards the center. Suddenly a bang, scream and terror. The passenger car entered the shelter, ramming the bench, posts and everything that stood on his way. Fragments of glass and sheet metal flew in all directions.
– It was like a bomb. People shouted, all terrified – says one of the witnesses in an interview with local media.
Four people injured
According to the first information, four people were injured: two passengers, two women waiting at the stop and two people driving a car, including the driver. Trojmiasto.pl reports that there is an 8-year-old child among the injured people.
Help was provided immediately. First, passers -by went to the wounded, a moment later rescuers were already there. For now, it is not known exactly what will the victims of the accident are in. Preliminary findings of services indicate, however, that their lives are not threatened by danger.
Police and services are investigating the case. One of the hypotheses is a fencing behind the wheel or loss of control over the vehicle. The car was secured.
– The driver was tested to the alcohol content, it was sober. The head and injured were taken by the emergency medical team to the hospital. The uniforms will explain the exact circumstances of this event – said young asp. Ewa Kurowska from the police in Gdynia.
Demolition stop
The place of the incident was like a battlefield. Roof of the shelled shell, skewed road signs, structure elements shattered into pieces. The energy pole was also damaged, which threatened with power outages.
The « Sea flyover » stop had to be excluded from use. The traffic in the area was seriously hindered by several reconciliation
