A newly paved street

A non -stunning attitude

Pienių Street in Užliedžiai was newly paved, and after a month, the workers cut the pavement in several places that the power line had to be repaired. The locals did not hide the outrage that the work was not coordinated and underground communication was already being managed after the new asphalt pavement was laid.

« I understand if there was an accident, but there were electrical installation repairs, cutting asphalt in several places. After all, both Kaunas District Municipality and Užliedžiai eldership had to know about planned work.

« I didn’t understand a little bit of what was happening here. Only the newly cast asphalt, and already tearing up, hopefully, the eldership will answer, » another local resident wrote on the Social Network page of the Užliedžiai community.

Went into a private plot

The resident said that Pienių str. Plot 1C – private. The owner unofficially allowed the neighbor to use the patch of land as an easement to enter the holdings, although according to the plans the neighbor’s entrance should be in another place. However, Mr Baltušnikas was surprised that asphalting Pienių Street was filled with dry asphalt on his land.

« The rest of the asphalt on my plot made such a bunch. Neither did we ask for something to pour or know how to arrange everything. Neighbors did not ask for the neighbors either.

He claimed that the workers who paved the street simply, as they wanted and understood, compared the private plot without any consent of the owners. S. Baltušnik estimated that the dry asphalt was filled with about 20 sq. M. m in the area.

After all, both Kaunas District Municipality and Užliedžiai eldership should have been aware of the planned work.

Confusion about graphs

The daily Kaunas District Municipality asked what works were done in Pieniu Street in Užliedžiai and why a new asphalt pavement was allowed.

« Please be informed that this was not a new overhaul of the street, but only a simple repair of street pavement. Excavation work was done in a closed way, only 2 sq. M of new asphalt in one section and another. There are no sidewalks where it could have been excavated.

ESO and municipal contractors work each on their work terms schedules, so there was no way to reconcile work. Kaunas District Municipality did not have any information about the schedule of ESO contractors’ work in Užliedžiai eldership, ”the comment sent to Kauno diena stated in a comment.

We asked who would be responsible for the guarantee in this case – the contractors who paved the street, or were those who have done the work after cutting the pavement?

« The street pavement will be paved and the company that has done the work is fully arranged, » said Kaunas district representatives.

Specialists of Kaunas District Municipality also commented on the daily newspaper due to the dry asphalt poured at the private Pienių str. 1C plot. The comment stated that the contractors did not know that it was a private property, thinking that it was a municipal entrance to the yards because there was no marking.

« The dry asphalt was poured by the contractor’s decision. The municipality informed the contractor of the situation. It is planned to resolve it in the near future, » said the district municipality representatives.
