“A new momentum for Portugal”. PS presents electoral program
The Socialist Party presents this Saturday its electoral program where, among criticism of the current governance of the country on topics such as health or housing, left the promise of several other measures.
One of the highlights goes to the proposal of the IVA zero measure in a hub of food goods permanently and also reduce this tax to 6% in electricity up to 6.9 kVA.
The PS also wants the annual increase in the national minimum wage of at least 60 euros per year, with the aim of reaching 1,110 euros in 2029, also wanting to reduce the work week to 37.5 hours.
In its electoral program, the party is worth wanting to “celebrate a new agreement to appreciate salaries in social concertation, with more ambitious goals in the trajectory of the national minimum wage and the average salary”.
With regard to the average salary, the PS proposes a growth « in at least 5% per year, reaching at least 2,000 euros in 2029 ».
In the presentation of the electoral program, the party leader, Pedro Nuno Santos, assured: « The PS did not want these elections and did nothing to happen. » He reiterated, « We did everything to avoid elections … We just didn’t vote for the motion of trust because everyone knew-and the PM either-that the PS could not commit to this government. »
« Luís Montenegro knew and chose to shoot the country for elections, » he accused.
In presenting the program, Pedro Nuno Santos said that “we have to download taxes essential”.
The PS proposes in the electoral program that all children born from the beginning of this year receive 500 euros on certificates of aforro, a measure that aims to give a « foot and then start adulthood ».
Regarding health, one of the measures is related to dental medicine and mental health that the party wants to be basic care of the National Health Service, also intending to create support for the accommodation of available doctors to work in health centers with lack of professionals.
