A new collective labor contract at the Ministry of Culture
The Ministry of Culture announces the signing of the new collective labor contract at the level of this activity sector on Monday, the document will produce legal effects for all the employees in the field, for a period of two years, with its registration at the Ministry of Labor.

According to the quoted source, the negotiations started in February and took place during three months, bringing together experts and representatives of both parties, in order to build a modern framework, equitable and adapted to the real needs of the culture employees.
‘Since taking over the mandate, I have had a constant dialogue with unions. The process was not a simple one and involved months of consultations, analyzes, technical discussions and, finally, intense negotiations. This success was possible through a collective effort from the trade union representatives, of the colleagues in the ministry and all those involved in the negotiation process. Each party came with the real desire to build a functional and sustainable agreement.
I believe that the completion of negotiations is a proof that social dialogue can work efficiently when treated with seriousness and openness. We have actively involved to support a correct, balanced and adapted framework for the realities that the employees of the cultural institutions face-whether we are talking about museums, libraries, theaters, cultural centers or the field of shows and heritage, « said Natalia-Elena Intotero, Minister of Culture, quoted in the statement.
The collective labor contract resulting from these negotiations includes clear provisions regarding the work and rest time, the payment of work performed on weekends, but also essential norms regarding health and safety at work. This document offers a legal framework that guarantees predictability, stability and an increased degree of protection for employees in the cultural field.
In the following period, negotiations for sectoral annexes will be initiated, which will contain specific provisions to each professional category in the culture sector, the Ministry of Culture also informs.
