A mysterious flight over Warsaw. A small plane left zigzags in the sky
From the morning, Warsaw residents looked for machines that circulated in a characteristic way over different parts of the city. The flight trace could be followed in a popular air traffic monitoring application. The view was surprised. The plane staggered strange circles, creating complex patterns in the sky.
The start took place from the airport in Modlin around 9. The machine maintained a height of about 1,500 for over four hours crossed the sky over Warsaw. The flight ended in early afternoonwhen the plane returned to Modlin.
A measuring aircraft in action
As we unofficially found out, it was a technical flight related to collecting spatial data. Aircraft of this type are equipped with specialized cameras and scanners that allow you to create accurate maps, 3D models and orthophotomaps used, among others in spatial planning and geodesy.
Weather conditions on Sunday favored this type of surgery. Pure sky and good visibility are ideal conditions for taking photos and measurements from the air.
For now, without official details
The exact purpose of the Sunday mission has not been established. Usually, such flights are related to the update of cartographic data or the preparation of documentation for large investments. It is known, however, that similar actions were previously carried out over other cities in Poland.
Residents can sleep peacefully. It was neither a military flight nor any extraordinary situation. Oh, ordinary work on maps, though with an unusual view in the lead role.
