A man who handled a rear -wing weapon put the special forces on the jar
Several assault teams within the Special Action Service (SAS) intervened on Wednesday, in the Capital, after the police were notified in connection with the fact that on the terrace of a block in Sector 1 a person handed a lens weapon.
According to a statement of the DGPMB, Wednesday, the Capital Police-Section 3 was notified that on the terrace of a block in Sector 1 there would be a person who would use a rear window.
‘The police officers, together with several assault teams within the SAS, who identified the exact location, were urgently traveled, in order to be able to intervene safely. From the first checks it was established that a man, who was on the last floor of the block, on the terrace, handed a lens type, in the presence of a minor. In view of the importance of approaching such a situation, both specialized crews in the mountaineering, from SIAS-GIGR, as well as gendarmes crews traveled. Thus, following the prompt intervention, the man in question was identified, aged 40, as well as his nephew, aged 16, without the need to enter force ‘, the statement said.
After a first evaluation, it was established that the weapon is of airsoft type, with plastic balls, ‘they want to have a recreation activity,’ the police say.
Both the man in question and his nephew were led to the headquarters of the Police Section 3 for further checks.
The police of the Capital mention that in such situations, the use of such equipment, even if it is an airsoft type weapon, can be quite risky in certain contexts, for several reasons, respectively there may be confusion with a real weapon: the rear -type weapons, even the ones of airsoft, are often extremely realistic.
Also, the quoted source emphasizes that people who observe such a weapon may believe that it is a real one, which can lead to risky situations.
‘In a situation where a person is supposed to have a real weapon, law enforcement can intervene quickly and with severe measures, to prevent any potential danger. This can lead to escalation of the situation, even when it comes to an airsoft weapon. Therefore, the risks may vary depending on the context in which the weapon is located, and the authorities must be prepared to intervene quickly, to prevent any risk situation, ‘explains DGPMB.
Police recommend the use of such equipment in appropriate and specially arranged places, where there is no risk of being confused with real weapons or hurting any person.
