Human remains were found near the popular tourist shelter « Vietnam » near the town of Smerek (Cisna commune, Leski poviat) in Bieszczady. The Cisna Forest District announced a disturbing discovery on Friday, May 9.

– There is a suspicion that bones may come from World War II, however, at this stage, this information is not yet fully confirmed – said to the portal of I.pl asp. Natalia Brzozowska from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Lesko.
She added that officers conduct explanatory actions under the supervision of the Leska District Prosecutor’s Office, which after the initial actions will decide whether formal formal investigation.
In the meantime, the area where the remains were discovered was secured by the police, and the Cisna Forest District closed the « Vietnam » world for users. « We will inform you immediately about the possibility of using the facility » – assures Cisna Forest District in a message published on social media.
